Film and Television Institute of Entrance Exam is conducted by the Film and Television Institute. Candidates who are interested to develop their career in art and craft of film making, Television production and have a desire to have their admission in Film and Television Institute in India, Pune has to qualify the FTII JET (Joint Entrance Test).

  • Admission to all programs in FTII is based on the entrance examination.
  • FTII JET is a three hours examination that consists of subjective and objective questions.
  • The entrance examination will be conducted in 26 centres across the country.

Eligibility for Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examination

  • Candidates should qualify their graduation from any recognised university.
  • Applicants should have 21 years and there is no upper age limit
  • Candidates can belong to any nationality.

Syllabus of Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examination

Generally, the following areas are included in the FTII entrance examination

  • General Aptitude
  • Specific Area Aptitude Test

And also includes the questions from the course topics like

  • Questions from Cinema, Architecture, Art etc.
  • Questions related to general awareness and Television Digital Media and Electronics
  • Here both multiple-choice and long descriptive and short type questions.

Exam Pattern of Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Examination

The examination will be conducted for 15 courses and the entire examination is divided into 3 sessions.

The 3 sessions are as follows.

Session 1

  1. Producing for Film and Television (Film wing, SRFTI)
  2. Animation Cinema (Film wing, SRFTI)
  3. Art Direction & Production Design (Film wing, FTII)
  4. Screen Acting (Film Wing, FTII)
  5. Screen Writing (Film wing, FTII)

Session 2

  • Direction and Screenplay writing (Film wing, FTII & SRFTI)
  •  Cinematography (Film wing, FTII & SRFTI)
  •  Editing (Film wing, FTII & SRFTI)
  •  Sound recording and Design (Film wing, FTII & SRFTI)

Session 3

  • Direction & Producing (EDM, SRFTI) & Direction (TV, FTII)
  • Cinematography (EDM, SRFTI) & Electronic Cinematography (TV, FTII)
  • Editing (EDM) & Video Editing (TV, FTII)
  • Sound (EDM) &Sound Recording and Television Engineering (TV, FTII)
  • Management (EDM, SRFTI)
  • Writing (EDM, SRFTI)
  • Each session will include the maximum 100 marks and it is subdivided into 30 marks for MCQs and the remaining 70 marks for descriptive questions.
  • Applicants are allowed to select only one course from each session

Instruction for Applying Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Entrance Examination

Before applying for FTII Entrance Examination, candidates are required to read the information provided on the official website.

  • Applicants have to visit the official website of FTII www.ftiindia.com .
  • Select option ‘ Apply Online’
  • Candidates have to fill their details like name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email id, Parent’s name, Communication address, Academic qualification, and Course details.
  • Applicants have to upload the passport size photograph and signature.
  • Select any 2 test centres as per your preference.
  • Upload documents if you are belonging to a reserved category
  • Candidates have to pay the examination fees through online mode that is Debit / Credit card.
  • After applying, candidates can take printouts for future reference.
