The professional training for students can be made through Industrial Training Institute. Through this skill-based education in engineering and non-engineering courses. The duration of ITI courses may vary from 6-months to 2-years. Through special skill and knowledge, the students will be trained professionals to secure jobs in both the public and private sectors.

The Engineering course includes the concepts of mathematics, engineering, technology and science. The non-Engineering course includes the concepts of languages, soft skills, specific-sector skills and training.

              Students who have passed the from 8th to 12th class can go for ITI courses. The admission process is different for different institutes. Some may conduct an entrance test or may conduct direct admission procedures. But primarily the admission will be on a merit basis. Diploma programs are conducted for various subjects like

After completing the ITI course, the students can select any of the below-mentioned options.

  • The students who have completed the technical or engineering courses can go for diploma programs in engineering. The diploma course will cover the selected subject matter in a deeper sense that includes both the theoretical as well as practical knowledge.
  • The students who have specialised their ITI course in soft skills or non-technical program can go for specialised short-term courses offered by the Advanced training institutes.
  • The students who have completed the ITI courses can go for All India Trade Test (AITT). The test is conducted by the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT). The students who passed the AITT will be certified by the NCVT.

The professional from ITI field can find job opportunities in Public Sector Undertakings like IOCL, Railways, ONGC, State-wise PWDs, Telecom / BSNL. In areas like construction, textiles, agriculture will provide job opportunities for the aspirants. 

Job roles

Instrument Mechanic, Electronic Mechanic, Welder, Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Mechanic Motor Vehicle, Foundryman, Electrician, Cutting & Sewing, Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Draughtsman (Civil), Draughtsman are some of the job roles for the ITI aspirants. In addition to these, the job seekers can find self-employment by establishing their winding shops, workshops, garages, contract works, transformers etc.
