M.B.B.S. – Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery

M.B.B.S. is having two categories i.e. one is Bachelor of Medicine and another is Bachelor of Surgery. It is an Undergraduate Academic Degree Course which deals with Medicine and Surgery. After completing the academic study, student has to complete one year of compulsory internship. MBBS prepares an individual to be a Doctor in Allopathic Medicine. During this course, students are provided complete knowledge of human body through theory and practical dissections. This course is mainly for those who have scientific mind and who wants to serve the society. Medical Council of India maintains uniform standards of medical education for undergraduates and postgraduates. Type of Course: MBBS is a 5.5-years professional Degree course. It includes one year of compulsory internship.

Duration: The duration of course is 5.5-years. 

Eligibility:

  • Candidate should have passed 10+2 with subjects with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. English is also a mandatory subject for eligibility in many of the universities and colleges.
  • AIIMS has the lower age limit to be 17 years of age for any candidate to apply for the course.
  • Candidates have to take an entrance exam for the admission in any of the medical colleges.
