Institute Of Chartered Accountants In India exam is also known as CA exams for selecting the candidates looking for their career in chartered Accountancy profession India.

For being a chartered account the candidate has to fulfil all the levels of ICAI exams. The ICAI exam consists of 3 levels of exams.

Eligibility of Institute of Chartered Accountants in India

Eligibility criteria of CA foundation

  • Students should qualify 10+2 examination from any recognised institutions.
  • The candidates who are registered for the CPT course with the Board of studies of the institutes.
  • Candidates who passed the graduation or post-graduation course in commerce with an aggregate mark of 55% are exempted from the examination.

Eligibility criteria of CA Intermediate

  • Candidates who pass the graduation or post-graduation from any recognised institution can apply for the CA Intermediate exam.
  • Candidates who have registered for the previous intermediate exam or professional Competence Course and converted into the intermediate course or Accounting Technician course can apply for CA Intermediate exam.

Eligibility criteria of CA Finals

  • Applicants who have passed the intermediate or professional Education Examination-PE-II/PCC/IPCC.
  • Candidates should have completed the 3 years or 3 ½ years of article training.
  • For PCC streams, the applicants have to serve the last 6months of articled training includes excess leave and for PE-II streams students or converted to IPCC should serve the last 12 months of articled training excess leave.
  • For intermediate IPCC students must serve the last 6 months of training including excess leave.

EXAM PATTERN of ICAI

Exam pattern of CA Foundation

  • This is an offline examination.
  • The medium of the exam will be in English or Hindi
  • There are 4 papers for the exam.
  • Paper 1 & 2 includes objective and paper 3 & 4 includes subjective questions
  • The total mark of each paper is 100.
  • There is no negative mark for paper 1 and 2, for Paper 3 & 4 the negative marks will be ¼ for each wrong answer.

Eligibility criteria of CA Intermediate Exam

  • The total duration of the exam is 3 hours.
  • There are 8 papers for this exam.
  • The exam is in offline mode.
  • The medium of the questions will be in English or Malayalam.

Eligibility criteria of CA Final

  • CA final will also be an offline exam.
  • It consists of both objective and subjective questions.
  • There are no negative marks for wrong answers.

How to apply for ICAI Exams?

  • At first the candidates have to register for the ICAI exam for the fresh application.
  • For registration, candidates have to enter the details like date of birth, mobile number and email id.
  • After receiving the registration number, applicants can login the application form and enter the details like personal information, academic qualification and communication address.
  • Applicants have to upload the scanned images of passport size photograph, signature and evidence/certificates of academic qualification and reservations.
  • Fees can be paid online by using Debit/Credit card / Net Banking.
  • After the successful submission of application form and fess, candidates can take a print out of the confirmation page.
  • Candidates have to send the print out of the confirmation page along with the supporting documents to ICAI.
