A scientist is the person who is an expert and have skilled knowledge in one or more physical or natural sciences. Science subjects are logic and are mysterious. Becoming a Scientist is not as easy as becoming a doctor, engineer or lecturer. The person who dedicates themselves to their subject matter, research on interesting phenomena or things and this continuous hard work and observation contributes intellect to become a Scientists.

Skills required for a Scientists

  • Good writing skills
  • Should update with the changes in the specialised area.
  • Should possess the patience for the result of the research and discoveries

Educational life

If you are interested in being a Scientist, then you should start the preparations right after your high school life. While joining for 12th class or higher secondary program you have to select your subject streams very carefully. You can choose either Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics combination or Physics, Chemistry, Biology combinations. Along with that, you should keep up your mathematical skills for acquiring a career as a scientist.

After completing your higher secondary education, you should develop a clear idea about your area of specialisation so that you can select the branch of science for your bachelor’s degree. The bachelor’s degree will be a basic foundation for your career. Further, you have to join for the postgraduate program so that you can gain an in-depth knowledge in your specialised area of study.

After completing the postgraduation courses, the students have to apply for the PhD program so that the aspirants will get more reputation and opportunity and to make easy paths for becoming a scientist.

After completing the essential educational qualification, the aspirants can apply for various labs and research institutes to attain higher education and experiences.

Career Prospects of Scientists

There are various research institutes and organisation for providing career opportunities for skilful scientists.

Job Roles of Scientists

Ethologist: Ethologists specialises in animal behaviour where they learn about the behaviour of animals in natural and man-made conditions.

Agronomist: Agronomist deals with agricultural and its technologist growth where the research process and development will lead to advancement in the agricultural field. Hence, they are also known as a plant scientist. For the production of the best output, the studies about the types, genetics and existence of agricultural land, soil, and plants.

Astronomer: Astronomer studies the about the universe that consists of planetary movements, galaxies, stars, celestial and non-celestial objects of the outer space.

Microbiologists: Microbiologists studies about the evolution, growth and structure of microscopic animals and plants. They also specialise their focus on diseases causing organisms and the organisms that have agricultural and industrial interests.

Cytologists: Cytologists are scientists who focus to study about the cells a cellular movement and variations. The core areas also include the study of cell multiplication, cell functioning, and pathology of cells etc.

Geologists: Geologists concentrates their study about Earth materials, Earth history, its materials, natural calamities and ecological sustainability of plants and soil materials.

Seismologist: Seismologist is scientists’ studies about the reason behind the earthquakes and its after-effects. Their research will help to find out the coming disaster and the disaster-prone areas.

Epidemiologist: Epidemiologists studies the source of diseases, solution &remedies for curing the diseases and also involves the testing of drugs or medicines.
