The discussions regarding the postponements of CA examinations and its opposed opinions have become one of the hot news for about a week. Students had pleaded with SC to postpone their offline CA examinations by considering their risk with COVID 19. Candidates are curious as they even do not receive the first dose vaccination. In their plead to PM Modi students also requested to provide an unconditional opt-out option and additional alternate attempts for such students.
In response to these protests, ICAI also informed their objections to postpone the CA exams as the current situation is the right time to examine as the lockdown restrictions have reduced in many areas across India and October to September is expecting a third wave of COVID 19. Any further postponement will lead to a lag in completing the scheduled timetable of ICAI. By analyzing the current scenario of covid 19 and the explanations from ICAI, SC had permitted to conduct CA examinations from July 5 onwards. Along with this permission, Supreme Court has directed the authority to prepare a brief note on SOPs and RTPCR for examination halls and also to mention the circumstances and conditions for opt-out facilities.
Concerning the directions from SC, ICAI has made some modifications related to the opt-out options for CA exams 2021. The improvised notification has been published by the authority that includes the date of examination. The CA Examinations from July 5 to July 20, 2021, and the Foundation exam will conduct on July 24, 26, 28 and 30, 2021.
