Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

BPT (Physiotherapy) is an undergraduate academic course in medical science. The subject Physiotherapy uses physical agents such as exercise, massage and other modalities for making treatment available to patients whose movement and functions are obstructed due to ageing, injury, disease or environmental reasons. Physiotherapy programs provide skills such as manual therapy, therapeutic exercise and the application of electro physical modalities to the expected students. Physiotherapy degree course is especially meant for those who have feelings and compassion for sick and injured. It is a challenging and demanding as in this one is required to work for long hours and have lot of patience as several patients may not respond to treatment immediately. Type of Course: Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is a 4½-years undergraduate degree course.

Duration: The duration of course is 4½-years (including 6 months of internship) 

Eligibility:

  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in physics, chemistry and biology.
  • A minimum aggregate score of 50%or equivalent CGPA at the 10+2 level (45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).
  • One has to clear Common Entrance Test (CET) for BPT. Admission is based on scores of CET.
  • Maximum age of a candidate should be 17 years.

  • Guru Govind Indraprastha University Physiotherapy Entrance Exam
  • JIPMER All India Entrance Exam.
  • KCET – Karnataka education board conducts the Karnataka Common Entrance Test every year for medical aspirants. Physiotherapy aspirants have to score minimum required marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry to get a seat in the college of their choice anywhere in Karnataka.
  • BCECE – Candidates willing to join Bachelor’s in physiotherapy in Bihar has to write Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Exam conducted by Bihar State education Board.
