Type of course: B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering) is a 4-year undergraduate course and is one of an important degree course in engineering stream.

Duration: The B.Tech. degree programs shall extend over a period of 8 consecutive semesters spread over four academic year. Two semesters constituting one academic year. The duration of each semester shall normally be 15 weeks excluding examinations. 

Eligibility:

The pursuing candidates should complete their 10+2 or its equivalent exam with minimum of 60% marks in class 10 and 10+2 with PCM (For CSE, ICT and ECE) and PCB/PCM/PCMB (For BT) from any board in India or its equivalent from any other country (English as a compulsory subject). Candidates must also have one subject out of Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science. For CSE, ICT & ECE – based on merit scored in JEE/SAT. For BT – based on merit scored in NIIT University Online Examination. Interview conducted by NIIT University.

In several colleges it conducts entrance exams and percentage of 12th class for the admission of students.

Salary: The average starting salary of B.Tech CSE graduates will vary from candidate to candidate as it depends completely on the skill, knowledge, experience and capability one has gained while getting graduated in B.Tech. The average salary the companies offer to the B.Tech CSE graduates is INR 2.5 Lakh to 8 Lakh per annum.

Entrance Test: Few Top entrance Test for B.Tech CSE are:

  • JEE Main: The Joint Entrance Exam JEE (Main) applications one can easily get online in the months of December and January. Candidates can choose for either pen-paper based exam or computer-based exam for Paper 1.
  • JEE Advanced:  It is an academic Exam conducted annually in India by one of the seven zonal IITs (IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, IIT Kharagpur and IIT Guwahati) under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board [JAB].
  • BITSAT:  BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) is an online (computer-based) entrance examination for admission to B.Tech programmes of BITS Pilani (Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad campuses).
  • SRMJEEE: SRM University conducts a Joint Entrance Examination (SRMJEEE) for admission to B.Tech CSE. The applications one can easily get online in the month of February and March.
  • MU-OET: Sikkim Manipal University conducts an All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET). The application forms one can get in the month of March.

The entrance examinations have a negative marking of 0 to 1 mark. The maximum time allotted for this exam is 2 ½ hours to 3 hours.
