On July 1, 2021, CBSE has updated the evaluation criteria for those absentees and for those who have changed their subjects. The CBSE has decided to evaluate the class 12 results on a 30:30:40 basis. Where 30% weightage will be given to class 10, 30% weightage will be given to class 11 and 40% weightage will be given to class 12.
In addition to these, CBSE has directed the schools to take the average of the best 3 subjects in class 11 if, any subjects have been changed from class 11 to class 12. But schools have confronted some issues that some students have changed their entire group of subjects from class 11 to class 12 after approval from CBSE.

In such circumstances, the school have to ensure whether the approval has already been obtained from CBSE as per the schedule. Because fresh requests will not be approved. The schools have to take the best three subjects from those that are studied in class 11. Schools were also reported that some students became not available for examination or computation of result due to various reasons like,
- Students may have already taken their TCs.
- Students may cease due to demise and name struck-off cases
- Some couldn’t be contacted during their exams or assessments.
In such cases, the CBSE instructed to confirm whether those students are marked as absent and do not award zero marks or mentioning anything against their names so that their result will not declare in the final list.
